The Mishna represents hundreds of years of Rabbinic thought and discussion of law and life which was finally compiled by a team led by Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi in about 220 CE. In the section known as Pirkei Avot [Chapters of the Fathers] the Rabbis use their own wisdom and texts from the Bible to give advice on how to be a good human, a good Jew and most importantly a good student. Each week a student of Pardes in Jerusalem will walk us through a short text and give their thoughts and musings on the advice of the Rabbi's of old. For, as Ben Zoma taught "Who is wise? He who learns from every man...." Learn well and share what you learn with all.
