A Kaddish in Two-Part Harmony: An academic and a musician mourn their losses and explore themes of death, grieving, ritual, and music together in a collaborative writing and podcast project at http://beitmalkhut.org. All who are interested are invited to join a virtual, asynchronous minyan by subscribing to this daily podcast of Lev Kogan's "Kaddish" for solo horn, which will run for a full Yahrtzeit. Daily recordings will document the evolution of one performer's view of a single piece of music throughout a year of bereavement and will sometimes include improvisation, both intentional and accidental, collaboration with guest musicians, and the spoken text of Kaddish, the Jewish mourner's prayer.
